This is a closed stand jointer, which means the cabinet that encases the motor and pulleys keeps it completely free of dust and debris.
The Delta 37-365X DJ20 Precision 8-Inch 1 1/2 Horsepower Jointer has a 5/8 inch cutting depth and an 8 inch wide cutting width. The 1 1/2 horsepower motor runs at 3,450 RPM with a cutting head RPM of 5,500 and can handle pretty much any job you throw at it. This is a bigger size than the 6 inch jointer models, and the price reflects that.
The three knife cutter head provides a precise cutting arrangement and easy replacement of the individual knives is done through a jackscrew arrangement. The entire cutter can be replaced easily, with a new module able to be fitted without a huge loss because of downtime. Finally, the generously sized feed table provides 76 1/2 inches of total support.
