Over the next 18 hours, the Aion-Kilimanjaro network will be deployed and a live-streamed event will start April 25, 2018 at 10:00 am ET. The Kilimanjaro network will be deployed in the hours prior to the live stream event, to ensure network stability and will be followed by the release of the node source code (on Github, along with compiled binaries) to the public. The binaries and source code will be released at the conclusion of the live streamed event. The Aion team will be available on the social channels and forum following the event.

During the launch event you will hear from the founders of the project as well as see the global Aion team. The event will conclude with the release of the source code (and compiled binaries) necessary to run a node as well as mine the network. To prepare yourself for the release check out the Aion Owner’s Manual available on the Aion Github.

For the initial launch, the Aion Foundation will not be hosting a mining pool. While in development and available, the pool is not ready for production. If you decide to join a community hosted pool please be aware of the risks and issues. We are recommending anyone interested in mining to host their own node, utilize the solo mining pool, and run the reference miner. Solo mining pool and reference miner setup and configuration.

To review the modules being released with Kilimanjaro please see previous blog post.

Please be aware that the token bridge is not included in tomorrow’s release. In months following the Kilimanjaro release, the Aion Token Bridge will be deployed. The Aion Token Bridge is built for transferring AION (ERC-20) tokens on Ethereum to flow seamlessly into and become native AION coins. As part of the launch of the Kilimanjaro release, the Aion Bridge Escrow account (a0eeaeabdbc92953b072afbd21f3e3fd8a4a4f5e6a6e22200db746ab75e9a99a) will be generated in the genesis block. The bridge escrow account will contain the total supply of Aion coins that currently exist on Ethereum as ERC-20 tokens (465,934,587.66). This account will be managed by a set of bridge contracts that will dynamically release Aion coins to a user’s Aion wallet when triggered by the Ethereum to Aion Token Transfer Bridge and a corresponding bridge transfer event on the Ethereum blockchain. We will provide additional details on token transfer bridge mechanics in the following few months.

Big thanks to the community! We are very excited about the launch, and hope you’ll join the live stream tomorrow.
