Turbulent joins Cloud Imperium Games

Dear friends and partners,
It is with great excitement and pride that we announce today that we have signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Turbulent by Cloud Imperium Games (CIG).
Developer of the massively multiplayer AAA video game Star Citizen, CIG has been associated with Turbulent for several years. This merger will allow Turbulent to continue its plans for expansion while remaining true to its values.
A rich history of achievements
In its 21 years of existence, Turbulent has evolved with the changing digital industry by adopting no less than four different business models. Originally a communications agency, Turbulent has become a custom software development firm, a multimedia and web series producer, and a web platform and video game supplier. Over the course of its history, Turbulent has produced more than 250 interactive projects, developed for the benefit of its many clients in the video game, education, and entertainment sectors. These projects have won hundreds of awards in a variety of national and international competitions.
Our company was built by a team of talented and creative people who have worked tirelessly to invent and create innovative and groundbreaking technologies. Our mission has always been to provide employees with a place where creativity and innovation can flourish, and we are proud of what we have accomplished and the reputation we have earned.
Reaching new heights
As avid gamers, we have always dreamed of applying our technological expertise to the world of video games. When we first discovered Star Citizen, we were immediately struck by the vision and ambition of the game. We saw an opportunity to be part of something truly special. Over the past 10 years, Turbulent has worked closely with CIG and the Star Citizen community to support this incredible project, and we are now honored to join the team in a more formal way.
A seamless transition
All projects with Turbulent’s current clients will continue as planned. The management team and the respective project teams will remain in place and ensure the diversity of internal expertise. In addition, the company will continue to operate in its primary language: French.
In addition to keeping all current projects and clients, Turbulent will bring our technological know-how and culture of innovation to the development of Star Citizen, and we are convinced that this will help take the game to new heights. We will continue to work with the community and support the open development principles that have been the cornerstone of Turbulent and Star Citizen since the very beginning.
As senior executives of Cloud Imperium Games, Benoit, Marc, and Claire will continue to lead this exciting new chapter in the history of Turbulent and Cloud Imperium Games.
