Dear Heart, did you not till now realize?
Solitude is your inheritance divine.
For a while destiny may mislead
and make you feel it’s love you need.
But, dear heart, do not wander and stray.
Solitude is a companion who shall never betray.
Those who promise warm sunshine and lasting rain,
their love will crumple under the smallest strain.
Dear heart, love is an illusion destiny creates,
Makes you vulnerable, your defenses it permeates.
It shatters you to pieces, the soul it deceives.
False hopes, promises in vain, it makes you grieve.
Dear heart, once again my advice you did not heed,
On another soul, your hopes and dreams you pinned.
Look at your state now, humiliated and ravaged.
Once proud and fiery, now shattered and destroyed.
Dear heart, there is no place for you in another’s soul;
no other half who needs you to make a whole.
You’ve deviated, rebelled, loved and lost;
Been plundered, wounded, deceived and tossed.
Dear heart, come back to me, it’s time to return,
I have a long way to go, the journey has just begun.
The terrain is aflame and dangerous as can be.
To cross the hurdles, I will need my heart with me.
