Whether you’re working on your motor skills, training your brain, or sleuthing out a fiendish villain, puzzle games are some of the most fun and rewarding experiences in VR — and we have a whole bunch of them right here on SideQuest!

We’ve already gathered 19 of the most puzzling VR games before… But who’s to say we can’t have EVEN more? Here’s another 12 to make it a nice (un)even 31!

1. Down the Rabbit Hole

Taking place in the world of Wonderland—before Alice went down the rabbit hole—this is a visual feast of a game, packed with detail and reference to the source material, while presenting both an intriguing story and puzzle mechanics. Search for hidden clues, talk to Wonderland’s cast of characters, and track down your lost cat, Patches.

We may all be mad here, but the real madness would be letting this gem pass you by.

2. Toy Trains

Who doesn’t love messing around with model trainsets? There’s something therapeutic about being transported back to a childhood safe space or hobbyist wonderland—and letting your creativity run riot.

In Toy Trains, you’ll need to use logic and imagination to carve the best path for your collection of trains in the relaxing story mode—or blast full steam ahead into the sandbox mode and start building whatever you can dream up!

3. Control Tower VR

Take control of your airspace as an air traffic controller—guiding planes and helicopters safely in to land by drawing flight paths in your 3D space.

There are 2 game modes to tackle here. ‘Career Mode’ challenges you to unlock maps and progress by earning high scores and star ratings (with some surprise twists thrown in—like attacking UFOs(??)), while ‘Play Now’ is open-ended with difficulty increasing the more aircraft you land safely.

4. Hide The Corpse

Jump into Weekend at Bernie’s in VR with this 70s-themed escapade where Tom is DEAD (through no fault of your own) and you have to hide his snazzily-dressed corpse before the police bust you for the crime.

The physics in this one are spot on—Tom feels heavy to lug around. And lug him around you must, because the cops are on your tail (you have 4 minutes) and you’ll need to stuff him into out-of-the-way places around the hotel room to get off scot-free. This game is not only fun but seriously funny, too. And well worth your time.

5. Tube Be Continued

A whopping 136 (hamster)CEO-approved puzzles will test your brain in Tube Be Continued. A talking boss hamster (aka ‘The BOSS’) needs your help to guide his hamster workforce to their tasty snacks.

Search the factory, find the connecting tubes, and line them up correctly to get the furry friends to their fab food. You can also customize your hamster and make them look fly (or ridiculous). In all, a fun puzzling time that’s perfect for any skill level!

6. Wordomi

Expertly blending the addictive puzzling concepts of crosswords and Wordle, Wordomi is a word-based puzzler that’s packed with over 100 challenging puzzles to attempt across 3 game modes for hours of wordy fun. And it’s a favorite of our SideKicks right now.

You can take it easy with the relaxing ‘Zen Mode’, or dial-up the pressure and tackle the puzzles against the clock. There’s also some very cool Mixed Reality capability and hand-tracking in here to make the puzzling package complete.

7. BlackForge: A Smithing Adventure

Okay, okay, BlackForge is more of a sim than a puzzler… but damn if it isn’t gorgeous, fun, and satisfying. And you’ll still have to figure out how to fill your smithing requests correctly!

Working as a local blacksmith in a fantasy town, you’ll need to take on their increasingly demanding and intricate tasks throughout the story campaign, forging everything from simple tools to powerful magical weapons and artifacts—all with the help of your friendly forge spirit. Both charming and laid back, BlackForge is a different kind of fantasy challenge—and well worth your time.

8. The Woozles

If you loved the old-school Lemmings, you’ll enjoy the free-to-play The Woozles! Transforming your home into a colorful steampunk wonderland, you’ll need to safely guide the cute little contraptions through the hazards to the end of each level.

It’s simple but addictive—and, since the game leans heavily into Augmented Reality, the levels shift depending on your gaming environment, which is pretty neat!

9. Sherlock Holmes: The Case Of The Hung Parliament

Like entering a piece of performance art where you do the sleuthing, Sherlock VR blends gameplay with performances from real-life actors to build an intriguing mystery.

Playable with up to 3 friends in co-op, you’ll need to analyze clues, scour crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and come to your own conclusions about who’s responsible for the ghastly crime. Definitely a unique VR experience and one for puzzle fans and Holmes fans alike!

10. Gear Out

Part horror, part puzzling escape room, Gear Out will have you exploring gloomy caves and dank dungeons to find the gears that power your access to the exit. But, of course, you’re not in there alone…

With thrills, chills, and a decent soundtrack to boot, you’ll get a kick out of Gear Out if you like your puzzling with a side of peeing your pants in fear.

11. Quack The Pipes!

Using your plumbing prowess, you’ll need to perfectly position the pipes to join vases, make the water flow, and help your quackish feathered friends enjoy the surf in Quack The Pipes.

This is definitely a cute one, but still provides a decent level of puzzling challenge. It’s also pretty darned addictive, surreal, and effective.

You wouldn’t want to make a lil’ duck sad, would ya?

12. Rescue The Holes

Rescue The Holes is a fun take on ‘don’t touch the sides’ mazes in Mixed Reality, with moveable platforms, switches, and plenty of problem-solving to tackle along the way—all while improving your motor skills.

Created initially by the talented developer to help family members and other individuals recovering from nerve, attention deficit, and psycho-motor issues, they decided to take it further and create a puzzler that’s fun for all! It’s a noble background—and a fun game that's well worth a try!
