Introducing New Subscription Options for Avocado
Today we’re announcing a new lower price for Avocado Unlimited, as well as two different subscription plans for you and your favorite person. For over a year, we’ve offered two options for Avocado users: a free version and an Unlimited version for $19.99 per year.
What we’ve found over time is that Avocado users want more flexibility with payment options. Some couples want to try Avocado out first before purchasing a full year of Unlimited, while others want a better way to renew their subscriptions on a monthly or quarterly basis. Our new payment options give you a chance to use Unlimited for three months, or (if you’re really awesome) a full year:
As a startup, we’re always exploring business models that are mutually beneficial to both our users and the company. Though we have many options, one thing we feel strongly about is not hosting 3rd party ads in Avocado. Keeping your private space in Avocado free from outside distractions is extremely important to us.
That’s why, with our latest update, we’ve decided to only add an in-app upgrade banner for Avocado Unlimited. If you are using Avocado’s free version, you will see the upgrade banner appear in the messages tab when you log in. You’ll be able to dismiss the banner once per day. If you are an avid user of Avocado and love our product, we hope you’ll consider supporting our team by upgrading to one of our paid plans so we can continue providing a great experience for couples everywhere.
Our goal has always been to create products that bring you closer to your favorite person. We hope this latest update will make it easier for you to create memories and stay in touch with your special someone, through Avocado and beyond.

What if I already have an Unlimited subscription?
You will maintain your current expiration date for Unlimited. When your subscription runs out, you will have the chance to renew via one of the two pricing options available on your platform.
Do we both need to purchase the subscription?
No, only one of you needs to purchase the subscription. Once one of you upgrades to Unlimited, you will both have Unlimited accounts.
What happens if I leave my couple? Do I keep my Unlimited subscription?
Subscriptions are per couple, so if you leave the current couple you will lose any Unlimited subscription tied to it.
