Watching my feelings, thoughts, and ideas come to life in a beautiful article is why I love writing. Despite being rewarding, the process of writing can get pretty cumbersome, frustrating, and fatiguing sometimes.
Luckily a lot of amazing tools exist to make the lives of us writers easier — the best part is that most of them are free and simple to use.
Be it planning an article, writing the first draft, choosing a headline, formatting, or polishing the final draft — these seven tools have been of immense help.
#1. A Good Old Notebook
I remember when I would start a draft and sit glued to my laptop screen thinking, writing, and rewriting for ages until I got so frustrated that I would slam shut the lid of my laptop.
One day, as I was sitting idle, an idea popped into my brain, and I grabbed a notebook to jot it down. I proceeded to plan out the headline, structure, and a rough draft of the story. The next day I opened my laptop and got to work.
Lo and behold, I finished the first draft within just an hour, a task that used to take at least 3 to 4 hours earlier.
