A girl I’m seeing was talking about how she went over to another dude’s place for a “smoke”.

I couldn’t help but feel a twang of jealousy.

“But why?”, I probed myself.

Forget being exclusive, we weren’t even dating. We were just hooking up. I was seeing other girls. We neither had labels nor any obligations to each other.

It made no fucking sense.

But that’s how the mind plays its tricks — it gleefully casts a light on what’s unimportant and hides the actual crucial things.

Segregate the Things that Matter from The Ones that Don’t

What was my motive in the dating space? To understand women better, sharpen my social skills and satiate my sexual thirst so I can stay on my purpose.

What were my priorities? Working out, writing, wealth creation, pursuing my curiosity, reading, my inner circle, and constant (holistic) personal growth.

What all don’t matter? Anything short-term — stock market fluctuations, sexual encounters, others’ opinions, bad days, embarrassments…
