Exercise is a drug. You can become an addict without even realizing it. Fitness freaks everywhere are obsessed with working out daily. Getting in a good workout is always on their schedule.

But sometimes a workout can rob the joy of life. Anything in extreme is bad for your health, even exercise. There are times when you need to listen to your body rather than pushing it to complete the last rep.

There are a few scenarios when it is better to not workout rather than sweating it out.

If You Are A Sleep-Deprived Zombie

You need at least 6–8 hours of sleep daily to function properly. Sleep is an essential component of a healthy life. You need to be well-rested to have a high-performance workout.

Sleep deprivation lowers your energy. It can cause injury as motor skills are less efficient which leads to a lack of coordination during the workout. So, if you are operating on less than 5 hours of sleep then it is better to take some rest and skip a workout.

Less sleep can make you cranky and fussy. It can decrease your motivation to workout and can make you dread a workout.
