Goodbye, August! Hello, BER Months! ❄️

August was an exciting month for us! Some would say that August is a “Ghost” month, but not to us! Because this month we’ve started showing up a lot to the community aside from the ongoing developments of our products and services. We launched the pilot episode of our Twitter Space Series and fifth episode of our Live Series to engage with the community and inform them of the important updates. Lastly, we’ve organized different IRL events like the Web3 meetups in Naga and Legazpi, Albay with BlockchainSpace, SparkLearn EdTech, Ownly, MetaGaming Guild, Internet Computer Protocol-Manila (ICP) and PDAX. The series of Web3 meetups was to gather the local community of developers, startup owners or representatives, gaming guild and some enthusiast to keep the traction tighter and be able to reap the result of educating and bringing Web3 technology closer to the community.

Of course, August was not just about the meetups, we also took pride in the recent Anito Legends IDO sale on SparkLaunch! 🚀

We are happy to share with you our Accomplishments from August. Let’s start!

2. Welcome to the EP05 of Today with #SparkyCommunity Live Series!

It’s been a while since our last episode of the Today with the Sparky Community Live Series! The fifth episode entitled, “The Intersection of Blockchain Education, Art and Gaming” aired last August 12, 2022.

Our featured guests were Melissa Mesias, CEO of SparkLearn; Ismael Jerusalem, CEO of Ownly and Carlo Mendiola, GPP Manager of BlockchainSpace. Aside from sharing their own perspectives about the correlation of the three sectors: Blockchain Education, Art and Gaming, one of the intentions of conducting this livestream is to initially introduce the upcoming IRL events to the community.

3. #SparkySpace EP01 went live, Hello Twitter Space!

Twitter Spaces are everywhere! It’s one of the trending ways of engaging the community. And we’ve had our pilot Episode with the CMO, Drei Bongalos. While on August 23rd, we officially aired the first episode of our #SparkySpace series featuring SparkPoint Developers, wherein, they took a little break off from those computer screens and joined us on air to share some stories about their personal and work routines, how they deal with the pressure and stress and of course, some updates on the ongoing development of the SparkSwap DEX V2.

4. SparkPoint attended the Blockchain Futurist 2022 in Canada!

Our Chief Technology Officer, Rico Zuñiga represented SparkPoint during the latest Blockchain Futurist 2022 in Canada! It is Canada’s Largest Blockchain Conference, and we are happy that Rico was there to witness a fireside chat with some of the notable Web3 personalities like Vitalik.

The #CanadaCryptoWeek was last August 8–10 2022 and Web3 projects all over the world were there to join and see the future! 🚀

Since the borderlines around the world are starting to ease up, we’re not seeing IRL events ending. And SparkPoint will be always up for this kind of event to continue introducing our project to other Web3 projects.

5. The Web3 Meet Up in Naga was a blast!

One of the main highlights of the month is the Bicol Web3 Meet Up! And SparkPoint was one of the organizers of these slated events.

The first leg of the Bicol Web3 Meet Up happened last August 26, 2022, at The Avenue Plaza Hotel in Naga City, Camarines Sur. Attendees who came from different cities of Bicol Region had a night full of learning. The panel discussion was one of the main activities during the event and we had Ms. Tin Ibañez (COO of SparkPoint), Ms. Melissa Mesias (CEO of SparkLearn), Ms. Leslie Pongol (CMO of MetaGaming Guild), Mr. Kyle Naron (Marketing Specialist of Ownly), and Ms. Jen Bilango (General Manager of Guild Hub, Corporate Strategy and Growth Lead of BlockchainSpace) as our panelists.

Key points of the panel discussion were about their first encounters with the Web3 Technology, the roles of their respective startup, projects or companies in bringing Blockchain Technology to the masses, and the intriguing discussion about the current policies and regulations related to Blockchain Technology in the Philippines.

The rest of the night was spent meeting Web3 friends and networking with like-minded people.

6. #BUIDLr Dinner with the Albayanos

The second Web3 meetup was held on August 27, 2022, at The Casa Lorenzo Food and Culture Restaurant, Albay Bicol.

The event was dubbed the “BUIDLr Dinner”. An exclusive meetup for the developers and the startup community of Albay and nearby areas. It was a night of table discussions, introductions of each project and current Web3 trends.

We would like to thank ICP-Manila and PDAX, two of the biggest projects from the Metro Manila, for sponsoring this event! And of course, the past two events wouldn’t be possible without the combined efforts of the BlockchainSpace team (who was the headline organizer), SparkLearn EdTech, Ownly, and Meta Gaming Guild teams. Kudos!

7. Anito Legends IDO Launchpad Sale on SparkLaunch

We take pride in the recent IDO project that launched in SparkLaunch, the Anito Legends LARO token. Anito Legends is a Filipino-developed auto-battler with play-and-earn features that can be enjoyed by both casual and competitive gamers. The game is available on PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

The IDO Launchpad sale went live last August 30, 11:00 AM UTC. As of now, we are readying the LARO tokens for claiming. Watch out for our upcoming announcements!

8. Coinbase Assets now supports SRK token!

Coinbase Custody Trust Co. (CCTC) included the SRK tokens as one of the newest thirty-eight (38) assets that they now support. Our supporters can now deposit and withdraw SRK tokens with Coinbase Custody.

9. SparkLearn’s “The Learning Space Series” has launched, SparkPoint CMO joined as a speaker

The SparkLearn EdTech, one of our affiliates, launched their first episode of “The Learning Space.” Our CMO, Drei Bongalos joined the discussion about the Importance of Blockchain Technology and Web3 Education in the Philippines.

SparkLearn’s The Learning Space was created to give a room for their supporters to chat with the mentors and innovators in the Blockchain space.
