How Tech-Savvy Are You?

Throughout the course of this class, technology and social media have been a large topic of discussion. As a result, this particular lesson that I have planned will relate to each of us specifically by having an in-depth exploration of how technology benefits us in our desired fields. The point of this lesson is for the class to discuss an area in which we are all likely familiar with, which is technology, and hopefully finding new ways which it can benefit us moving forward.

As part of a younger generation, we have all been lucky enough to have technology and social media as part of our lives from a young age. As our society moves further and further into a digital age, the question I have for the class is: how much has our usage of social media and the internet prepared us for this transition?

Homework: Write a blog post responding to this question. Discuss any ways that your usage of social media, the internet, or any other form of technology has benefitted you over the years. Also, what is your desired field and goals within the WSP? How has the evolution of technology changed them and how does your experience using the internet, technology, or social media benefit you in this field?

While technology, social media, and the internet have been recurring themes throughout the course of WSP 101, I feel that it is imperative to cover them in regards to the needs and goals of the people in this class. Our society is evolving along with technology at an alarming rate, and I believe that at some point, we should all be familiarized with the technology of our time.

5 minutes: Reaction to TED Talk

5 minutes: Closing comments
