I won’t cite statistics about QTPOC (indigenous-inclusive) and mental illness, because we already know them dearly and deeply. Anomaly’s GLITTERBRAIN folio seeks to create a home for expression by queer and trans indigenous people and people of color who identify as mentally ill, neurodivergent, or as having mental illness. Let’s incinerate stigma, reject respectability politics, subvert stereotypes, and hold ourselves and each other. Let’s refuse to apologize. Let’s create. Let’s be luminant. Let’s be real.

Poems, hybrid pieces, and intermedia/multimedia work will be considered, and are not required to address mental illness directly. Essays about mental illness and poetics will also be considered. Please send up to 5 pieces, as well as a brief bio to sarah@anomalouspress.org by August 15th.

*Identity is personal. If you think you belong here, then you belong. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
