My friend for over 20 years!

Once upon a time, as all true stories go, it was a dark and stormy time in my life. The grief and sadness would not lift.

One day I decided to visit the local antique/junk shop in my village.

It was snowy and wintry that day. Along the side of the shop sitting with JUNK, I noticed an old tricycle sitting on top of a snowy laundry bin.

Looking closer, I could barely see it.

When I walked into the shop, I just kept thinking about that cold and lonely tricycle. Asking the price, the owner of the shop quoted a very affordable amount.

YES!!! The tricycle was mine! I was now the thrilled owner!

Home it came. The first stop for Trike (now named) was to visit my yard where some decorative crates lived. Trike loved to romp in the snow, finally FREE!

Since Trike was used to the cold and snow, I knew he wouldn’t be disappointed by sitting on a covered porch until warmer weather arrived.

When most of the snow was melted, I was able to introduce his porch mates — two chairs which were over 50 years old and a little oak barrel with a basket of pine comes. It was fun listening to them talk amongst themselves.

Finally, it was Spring!

Trike loved to sit in the new green, remembering all of the Springs in his past.

When it was too early in the Spring to plant in the ground, Trike loved to display Primroses.

Some old Peonies popped up in the yard which Trike investigated thoroughly.

When the ground was warm enough, Trike loved sitting in the middle of his very own flowerbed.

Out in the yard, wild growing roses dwarfed Trike with their beauty!

After a few years, Trike and I moved into an apartment where an entirely new environment greeted him. He’d never lived on a balcony before. Sunsets arrived nightly with Trike’s mouth hanging open with its beauty.

Trike lived on the balcony for 12 more of his years but he still enjoyed WINTER the best!

Sometimes he was dressed in beautiful, shiny icicles!

Once day Trike was allowed to come inside to show off the corn growing proudly from a container on his seat.

Eventually it was time to move again. What a delightful place it would be — to live by a cove which led out into a lake. Trike, who still lives there with me, loves his new view to the east!

In all seasons, Trike enjoys himself immensely!

In autumn, romping in the autumn leaves never gets old.

Soon it will be winter again. I can already hear Trike giggling in delight.

Thank you for coming to meet Trike and reading.
