The Truth About Trump’s Hair

What it says about a Trump Presidency

It’s the question that is always on our minds, but never resolved.

“Is that thing on Trump’s head a thing or is it real?”

He says it’s real, and to his credit, he has even pulled it back to demonstrate. For some reason, the question remains because his hair is such a freak of nature. It defies the laws of physics as the front of his hair seems to cascade forward and then swoops back up. It just doesn’t seem possible.

So I asked an expert on hair — my hairstylist. Jennifer Clark is tremendous, terrific and amazing (channeling Trump superlatives).

I saw her this morning for my monthly cut. She couldn’t say for sure, but she’d had to guess that he was not wearing a hair piece. She reasoned that toupees are made really well these days and the techniques to make the toupee not look like a toupee are very sophisticated. The fact that it looks like a toupee must mean it is not a toupee. That makes a lot of sense to me, and I now accept that as gospel true.

The extension (logic, not hair) of this new truth means that it is all his hair, but he’s doing a really bad comb-over. This could mean several things, all of which foretells a disastrous Trump Presidency.

No one is telling him

Everyone is afraid to tell him. I suppose job security is at stake. No one wants to hear, “You’re fired!”

Not even his family. I suppose the stakes are even higher for them. No Trump wants to hear, “You’re disinherited!”

Managing by fear is not the worst thing in the world. It can work for a business. But for a country? And dealing with heads of other nation states?

He actually needs to engage with Congress. He needs to persuade the populace. Fear, however, only produces force. Force is, by its nature, temporary. True persuasion requires reason and love. That is real power. Real power endures.

He only listens to himself

His very bad comb-over could simply be that he doesn’t take advice. For someone who doesn’t know anything or have any experience in anything other than making a deal, this is not a good Presidential trait.

That he knows nothing else, should not be a surprise. He has never been in public service. He has only served himself.

He knows this. He has said that he will make up the knowledge and experience deficits by “hiring the best people.” The problem is that he likely won’t listen to them.

No self-awareness or self-reflection

The explanation for his hair could also be that he doesn’t look in the mirror.

He may lack self awareness or fails to take time to reflect. He will not be able see when his policies are failing. He will not learn from mistakes. He will refuse to pull back. He will lack empathy. He will be unable to sympathize. The world revolves around him.

I now know that his hair is real. I am terrified about what this means if he were to win the Presidency.
