Alright, before I start, I found out some interesting things about Moustapha Akkad, the long time producer of the Halloween franchise, who this film is dedicated to.
Born in Aleppo, Syria, he moved to the US to study film at UCLA and later USC. He became a protege of Sam Peckinpah, of all people. A mere two years before the first Halloween in 1978, he directed The Messenge, which told the story of the prophet Muhammad on film. The film was filmed in both an English and Arabic version, with different casts for each. However, because of the tradition ban on depictions of the prophet, the film is instead mostly told through the perspective of his uncle Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib (Anthony Quinn in English, Abdullah Gaith) and adopted son Zayd ibn Harithah (Damien Thomas, Ahmed Masey). Funding for the film came from Libyan dictator Mummar al-Gaddafi and King Hussan of Morocco. He later directed Lion of the Desert between Halloween and Halloween II, also starring Anthony Quinn (and funded by Gaddafi) in the real life story of Libyan resistance to Mussolini.
Just thought that was an interesting career for someone who is now known as the producer for a slasher series.
Halloween: Resurrection would be his last film before his 2005 death in the Amman bombings. Now, his son Malek is the lead producer, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein are still hanging around this franchise, fantastic.
Now we have the remake or reboot, or whatever, directed by musician and horror director Rob Zombie.
