Halloween-athon- Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills

Okay, to give the long and short of it, I had some trouble with anxiety yesterday. The recent, extremely devastating news about what happened in Florida regarding gender-affirming care weighed a lot on me, and I lapsed in terms of social media. As such, I couldn’t focus on Halloween (2018). I literally had to restart it a couple times because I couldn’t focus. Didn’t help that I decided to go to another movie, Till (which was quite good, I recommend seeing it), and I tried to watch it after, but was sleepy at that point.

So, because I now have two reviews to do today, might as well combine them. A double feature if you will. Hopefully, it works out.

Halloween (2018)

So, another reboot. Though this time, it’s ignoring every single sequel except the venerated original.

It’s nice that the Weinsteins are finally gone, so their stench is nowhere near this movie. Instead, it’s solid horror producer Jason Blum behind this, as well as Universal for the first time since Halloween III.

And interestingly enough, David Gordon Green, the director and co-writer, and Danny McBride, the other co-writer, were mostly known for their collaborations in comedies, like Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down. Though…
