Yeah, I can’t think of another way to sum up this movie.
It’s quite bad, especially the opening, where it’s revealed that Laurie Strode (who seemingly killed off Michael Myers by decapitation in the last one) killed instead some random guy that Myers impersonated.
Not only does this take away from the impact of Michael’s brief show of humanity before his death, but it also doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. The explanation they give doesn’t fit with the last film, and also just doesn’t make any sense on a logical level.
Anyway, Laurie is in a psych ward, and Michael comes to kill her. She captures him in some Buster Keaton type gag, but is so cautious from that aforementioned bit of bad writing that she decides to “make sure”, and Michael manages to kill her.
So, Michael basically achieves the goal he’s been trying to do for like 8 films, and 24 years. What happens now? He’s done, he has no particular reason to do anything. He even gives his knife to a serial killer obsessed fellow patient in a clown mask, and fucks off.
