Redesigning Google Maps for iOS Start Screen

I don’t know about you, but I usually use Google Maps on my phone as a GPS. Half the time I open up the app I want to know how to get to some new location. The other half, I want to know how to get back home or to work.

This is what I see when I open up Google Maps.

I see a search bar up top. This is exactly what I need to search for a new location. But, like I said, this is only what I’m using the app for half the time! For the other half I want a quick way to get directions back home or to work.

So I propose the following new design:

On the starting screen I’m able to choose all my usual types of destinations.
