XXXI (Season 32, Episode 4, Aired November 1st, 2020)

Alright, just two more, and both in one day! And they just came out in the past two years! And another November one! This one mere days before the 2020 election, so like in 2008 and 2016, we get a opening segment about the election. It’s okay, it’s no 2008 election parody from Season 20. I liked the scroll of all of Trump’s terribleness when Homer is deciding who to vote for. It’s weird that in a lot of these election coverage stuff, they don’t actually name the candidates. SNL did the same thing with their awful election sketch from the same time. Is this just the Fairness Doctrine? Anyway, it ends with January 20th, 2021 being a mess of ED-209s, lava, and even the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Which is bad, but nearly as hopeless as the actual 2021 turned out to be.

Bart seems to be Sid, that kid in the movie that destroyed his own toys for his own amusement. There’s a funny opening where Bart finds increasingly ingenious ways of destroying his toys. The CGI is pretty good, limited in the same way the show’s standard 2-D animation is. There’s a pretty funny parody of Randy Newman playing (actually the second parody of “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” they’ve done, after Angry Dad: The Movie). I like that the parody focuses on Sid’s toys and how they might’ve…
