Hillary for America Foreign Policy Advisor Laura Rosenberger and Local Pittsburgh National Security Experts Outline Dangers of Trump Presidency

Ahead of Donald Trump’s foreign policy speech in Ohio today and new reports on the Trump campaign’s pro-Kremlin connections, Hillary for Pennsylvania hosted a national security roundtable to highlight the danger a Trump presidency would pose to our country.

In addition to recklessly repeating his false claim about the founding of ISIS, which is now being used by Hezbollah, Trump has said that his primary foreign policy advisor is himself because he has “a very good brain” and that he “know[s] more about ISIS than the generals.”

The roundtable featured Pittsburgh native and Hillary for America Foreign Policy Advisor Laura Rosenberger; BG Michael A. Dunn (Ret.); Dr. Paul Adams, Associate Professor of Political Science and Division Chair at the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg; and Alex Austin, US Air Force Veteran and PA Delegate 14th District.

The participants issued the below statements following the event.

“We need Commander-in-Chief who has steady leadership, experience and judgment to keep us safe and address the challenges we face today. The choice in this election could not be more clear — on the one hand, we have Hillary Clinton, who many have called the most qualified candidate ever to run. Meanwhile, national security experts across party lines agree that Donald Trump would be the most reckless American President we have ever seen. He’s shown time and again he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and when he does put forward policy proposals, they are wrong-headed and would make us less safe. And his comments parroting our adversaries’ talking points are already making us less safe by feeding their ideology,” said Laura Rosenberger, Hillary for America Foreign Policy Advisor.

“We live in an ever-changing and unstable world, which is why we need a President who will lead America consistently and effectively. We need a serious leader who doesn’t shoot from the hip like Donald Trump but who listens, thinks and acts on our values. Hillary Clinton is that leader. She defends America’s core values in national security, and military, Veterans and their families’ health. She is the right candidate for President who can handle tough situations with composure,” said BG Michael A. Dunn.

“The President, as our Commander-in-Chief and as a global leader, must be rational, well-informed, and well-advised. We cannot afford to entrust so much responsibility to anyone that not only fails to grasp the critical issues of the times but also one that seems incapable of prudent communications and leadership with the rest of the world. We need a president who understands and has experience in how to work with our allies, confront and contain those that oppose the US, and to respectfully and capably represent the United States to the world,” said Dr. Paul S. Adams, Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.

“As an original Bernie Sanders supporter and Air Force veteran, I understand all too well the challenges that veterans endure, and the sacrifices that our service members make on a daily basis. This is why we need to elect a competent experienced leader such as Hillary Clinton to make the toughest decisions as Commander-in-Chief; I urge all of the Bernie Sanders supporters to consider what is at stake this election and follow Bernie’s lead in supporting Hillary Clinton for president. We are stronger together,” said Alex Austin, US Air Force Veteran and PA Delegate 14th District.
