Pennsylvania delegates across the state are united behind Hillary Clinton as the Democratic National Convention begins today in Philadelphia. Hillary for Pennsylvania hosted a series of delegate send-off parties during the past several days where delegates joined with community leaders and supporters to discuss Clinton’s commitment to build an America that is stronger together — and an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.

Take a look at some of the coverage of Pennsylvania delegates preparing for convention…

The York Dispatch: “Delegates Rep. Kevin Schreiber, D-York City, and Salomé Johnson, of Hallam, visited the “York for Hillary” office at 11 E. Market St., Saturday afternoon to celebrate the start of the convention… Schreiber said he is excited to be heading to the conventionMonday. “It’s history in the making,” Schreiber said.

WNEP-TV: “Dozens gathered inside Hillary Clinton’s campaign office in Scranton to help send-off delegates to the convention in Philadelphia. This is Grace McGregor Kramer’s first time as a delegate. “I think a lot of unification has already happened at the high level, but now it’s getting some of the loudest, biggest supporters together and talk and hash through some issues and differences,” said McGregor Kramer.”

WBRE/WYOU: “The Hillary for Pennsylvania Campaign is hosting more than a dozen delegate send-off parties across the state tonight. A group of her supporters gathered in Luzerne County to celebrate her choice for VP, and to prepare for the DNC… “Hillary is the most qualified person to ever run for president,” said Bob McDonald, 120th State House District candidate.”

Bucks County Courier Times: “Jenni Murphy, the wife of former 8th District Congressman Patrick Murphy, knows most of the regulars who attend Democratic Party functions in the area. So she wasn’t surprised to see all the familiar faces Sunday in Doylestown, where Hillary Clinton supporters gathered to send off local delegates to the Democratic National Convention this week in Philadelphia. “But what’s so encouraging is how many unfamiliar faces I’m seeing here,” said Murphy, who is an alternate delegate. “It’s nice to see that Hilary Clinton’s campaign is exciting so many new people of younger and older generations.”

Daily Local News: “Marlon Marshall, director of state campaigns and political engagement for the Clinton campaign; state Rep. Mary Jo Daley, D-148, of Montgomery County, a Clinton delegate from the 2nd Congressional District; and Bill Leopold, a Bernie Sanders delegate from the 2nd Congressional District, were among 75 people in attendance for a delegate send-off party in Montgomery County Sunday. They said they were looking forward to sharing their party’s plan for the future. “I think you’re going to see a stark contrast with our convention,” said Marshall. “We’re going to tell an inclusive story. One that shows that when we come together as Americans, we can achieve anything we put our minds to.”

WHP-HAR (CBS): “Here in central Pennsylvania, delegates are hosting sendoff parties. one of those parties was held today in York. The delegates along with community leaders and supporters discussed Clinton’s vision for America and what it means for the convention to be here in Pennsylvania.”

Wilkes-Barres Times Tribune: “As opposed to the Republican National Convention (in Cleveland), which was filled with divisiveness, anger and hatred, the DNC will be a complete show of unity and support for Hillary,” Graff said. “And you will see real star power in Philadelphia — ex-presidents, real luminaries. And you will see the entire Democratic Party behind Hillary, not just a few capitulating to something.”

WICU (NBC): “It’s the Democrats turn to take center stage this coming week. Erie delegates heading to Philadelphia gathered for a sendoff… Kathy Dalkemper and Bill Cole will be two of the six delegates attending the Democratic National Convention from the Third Congressional District… Other supporters such as state representative Flo Fabrizzio said the sendoff was Erie’s chance to voice a loud message: “That we in Erie are going to back Hillary Clinton. We want that message loud and clear.”

York Daily Record: “This is Bracey’s second convention, but her first as a delegate. She said she is looking forward to being able to cast her vote for Clinton. Bracey was at the 2012 convention in Charlotte when Obama was nominated for a second term. “It will be a historical moment,” Bracey said of the first major-party female presidential nominee. “You gotta love the girl power.”

The Midweek Wire: “If all goes as predicted, Hillary Clinton will be the first-ever woman to accept the Democratic nomination for president. Clinton’s campaign could represent a milestone for women aspiring to careers in politics, and these Bucks delegates are excited to support her.”

PennLive: “Some of Sanders’ more high-profile convention delegates weighed in on the Vermont senator’s endorsement. In statements provided by Clinton’s Pennsylvania campaign, this is what they had to say… Cheryl Marshall, a Sanders delegate from Columbia County, said Clinton will fight for such key issues as “raising the minimum wage, lowering the cost of college and making health care more affordable.” “Pennsylvanians must do everything we can to defeat Donald Trump in November and ensure he doesn’t get anywhere close to the White House,” she said.”

Beaver County Times: “Coleman Leggett, a 22-year-old Florida native… was initially a Sanders supporter up until a few months ago. Leggett said the supposed political divide between Clinton and Sanders has been greatly exaggerated. “More or less, Sen. Sanders and Hillary Clinton have more in common than people give them credit for,” he said…”This is the most progressive platform and the most progressive campaign the Democrats have seen in recent years,” Leggett said.

KYW Newsradio: “The 21st ward leader says, he will be an enthusiastic Clinton voter. “The two scariest words I can think of right now are ‘President Trump,’ so I think it’s important that we set all the differences aside, look at what we all agree on and go forward in November,” he said.”

Williamsport Sun-Gazette: “Delegate Ardis Mason says shes glad Democrats are “slowly turn the Democratic Party back into a party of the people rather than a party of corporations.” Delegate Munley commends Sanders on his political success during his campaign, but said he will ultimately vote for Clinton. “I thought Mrs. Clinton had far more experience than Sen. Sanders,” Munley said. “I thought she had a pretty good idea of how the whole system worked.”
