Pennsylvania Sanders Delegates Join Bernie Sanders in Uniting Behind Clinton’s Candidacy
Joining U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, who today endorsed Hillary Clinton at an event in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania delegates who supported Sanders during the primary are coming together to defeat the dangerous and divisive candidacy of Donald Trump. In endorsing Clinton, Sanders spoke of his friendship with her — from Senate colleague to presidential campaign rival — and stressed their shared vision for an America that is stronger together, with an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
“Our Democratic Party platform is the most progressive platform in our party’s history. It’s a platform that will ensure that people of Pennsylvania come before the special interests and the billionaires. Democrats are united to support Hillary Clinton because she will fight for our values.”
Lou Agre, a Bernie Sanders delegate from Philadelphia
“I’m proud that our Democratic Party is uniting around progressive issues such as raising the minimum wage, lowering the cost of college and making health care more affordable. Bernie Sanders and his supporters have done an incredible job of bringing new life and ideas to the Democratic Party. Joined together, we must elect a leader who will fight for these issues on our behalf, and Hillary Clinton is that leader. Pennsylvanians must do everything we can to defeat Donald Trump in November and ensure he doesn’t get anywhere close to the White House.”
Cheryl Marshall, a Bernie Sanders delegate from Columbia County
“Our Party must come together to fight for a strong progressive agenda as embodied in our Party’s platform. Our nominee will run on a platform committed to a $15 minimum wage, tuition-free college for working families, expanding Social Security, and creating millions of jobs rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. Our Party and Hillary Clinton are committed to enacting that platform, which shows that more unites us than divides us. Donald Trump goes against everything we have fought to achieve, and it is crucial that we unite behind Hillary Clinton to stop him.”
Chuck Pascal, a Bernie Sanders delegate from Armstrong County.
