After a successful stint in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) On Tour games earlier this year, the former Bulacan State University (BulSU) guard Dominick Fajardo will continue to showcase his talent in the country’s premier basketball league as the NLEX Road Warriors selected the Malolos native as the 30th overall pick in the 2023 PBA Annual Rookie Draft on Sunday, September 17, at the Market! Market! in Taguig City.

The former BulSU Gold Gears shooting guard graduated from the university in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics majoring in Computer Science. He was best remembered for his astounding performance in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) in 2016 wherein he put BulSU on the map and took home the first-ever MVP award of the said tournament.

Out of 124 applicants, the largest batch in PBA History, the 29-year-old was able to make his mark with the NLEX coaching staff and will stay home with the Road Warriors after winning four leg titles in the PBA 3x3 during the 2022–2023 season, managing to fill up the stat sheets in the PBA on Tour as the third-leading scorer of the team.

Before joining the Road Warriors, Fajardo was with the Bulacan Republicans in the National Basketball League-Pilipinas where he became part of the Mythical Five in 2021.

The 6-foot BulSUan started his professional career in 2018 after being part of the Gold Gears’ coaching staff for a brief one-year stint. He then became an employee of the NLEX company which later on paved the way for his biggest break leading him back to the hard court.
