Jenny and I are thrilled to announce that Chris Boyce, former Executive Director of CBC Radio, has joined us as an owner and principal in Pacific Content, and will be heading up our Toronto presence.

Chris actually used to be my boss at CBC when I was running CBC Radio 3 and CBC Music, so I can say from personal experience that he is one of the smartest, most strategic, and most experienced media executives I’ve ever met. His lifelong passion for radio has led to deep expertise in audio storytelling, program development, and audience-building. During his time leading CBC Radio One, the audience grew to record levels, with more people listening than at any point in the history of the service.

Another passion of Chris’s is the world of digital content — during his tenure, CBC Radio was the undisputed leader in Canadian podcasting, and he was instrumental in the strategy, launch, and execution of Canada’s digital music service, CBC Music.

And if that isn’t enough, Chris is also one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

As Pacific Content continues to grow rapidly with new clients and new branded podcasts (more news on both fronts coming very soon…), the addition of Chris to our ownership team ensures that we will stay at the forefront of podcast innovation, delivering best-in-class audio programming for some of the most exciting companies in the world.

Welcome to the team, Chris!

Chris joins our fast-growing team that has expanded from two to ten people in just a few months time.

Here is the rest of our amazing and talented team:

  • Rob Leadley is also a new owner in Pacific Content and assumes the role of CFO / COO. Rob previously founded and operated Measure Co., a business consultancy focused on strategy for creative organizations.
  • Dan Misener has recently joined us as a producer, storyteller and all-around podcasting wizard. Dan is also a CBC technology journalist and host/producer of the hit podcast, Grownups Read Things They Wrote As Kids — a New York Festivals’ award-winner, Buzzfeed chart-topper, and iTunes “Best Of” selection.
  • Erin Garrity is a veteran show-runner who has produced numerous TV series, launched two TV stations, and served as VP of Online Strategy & Interactive Content at a Vancouver marketing agency.
  • Andy Sheppard is our head of sound design and post-production. He is also an international touring musician and former national radio host and producer with CBC Radio 2.
  • Christian Prohom is a sound designer and post-production editor. He is a veteran musician (D.O.A.!) and has composed for numerous television series and films.
  • Jordan Kawchuk is producer, writer, and storyteller with a rich array of talent, stretching from radio production to video podcasts and from directing TV to producing films.
  • Tara Brockwell is a producer and storyteller joining us from CBC Radio One in Montreal and Vancouver. Tara was an international teacher prior to her career in radio.

We will be introducing each of our new team members in more detail over the coming days, but you can already learn more about them all here.
