The creation of Pacmo has been quite the journey. Starting from the day it rained on me while I was skateboarding to work and I didn’t have my jacket because it wouldn’t fit into my backpack. To the adventure of upping my home ec game by learning how to sew (shoutout to the youtube tutorials Sewing for Guys). To working with my fantastic designer intern who didn’t laugh at me when I brought her my terrible hand-sewn prototypes. To creating the labels and sourcing them. To cold calling a dozen manufacturers and begging them to help me get off the ground. To finally SEEING THE FIRST BATCH IN FRONT OF MY EYES. I do not have kids, but this is what I imagine it feels like dropping them off on the first day of school.
It is such an amazing feeling to see the Pacmo come to fruition, thanks to the help of everybody who was involved. And let me tell you, the first Pacmos look SEXY. Between the sourcing of the highest quality materials and working with the Robinson Windword seamstresses in Washington, we’ve acquired the title MADE IN THE USA BABY.
Before I get too out of hand, they’re here and they’re ready to be yours. I am going to give the first batch away for FREE, so that I can improve the product based on your feedback and make the absolute best possible backpack extender. If you’d like to own one of the first Pacmos ever made, enter your info in the giveaway.
I’m very excited for the future of Pacmo. If you are too, and want to see these in stores some day, the best thing you can do to help is sign up for the giveaway!
