(283): Escape the Invisible Chains
Aug 9, 2017 · 1 min read
A one line poem for Tamyka Bell’s Chalkboard prompt “Escape”

The pain nudges me,
Then pushes, stabs, twists me —
A false escape tempts me;
But the only way out
Is through —
Repeat slowly, with focus,
As I pull open the cabinet
And take one less pill tonight.
