I am very pleased and proud to announce that Paint My World has joined the Enjin Multiverse Program!

Here’s the story behind this colorful 2D platformer puzzle game, along with details about the upcoming Paint My World sequel—both of which are Powered by Enjin.

The Original Paint My World

An idea born several years ago, the original Paint My World was designed to be a fast production flash game. This concept eventually grew into something more, and soon mobile versions of the game were planned out.

No official release of a PC version of the game was ever created — until now.

Today, I am excited to release an Enjin-powered PC version of the original Paint My World game, which is available now on our website!

As you play your way through the original platformer, you can unlock up to 30 different blockchain assets, earning rewards for each achievement and milestone.

To play the game, you’ll need a License Key, which can be purchased either via our website or on the Enjin Marketplace. All you need to do is hold the license in your Enjin Wallet, and you’ll be able to access the game.

Why Enjin?

For a long time, I knew I wanted to create a new version of Paint My World that would be much greater in scope than the original. I had plenty of ideas for the game, but many of them would have been difficult to implement using traditional systems.

When Enjin came along, it filled in an awful lot of these gaps and provided me a means to turn Paint My World into a reality.

As an experiment, I initially turned the original game artwork into blockchain assets as part of Enjin’s “Blockchain Legacy” collection, which was well received by the community.

I’d like to extend a big thank you to these supporters, along with everyone else who has supported the project thus far!

Any additional sales from the original legacy version of Paint My World will help pave the way for the sequele.

The Paint My World Sequel

The Paint My World sequel will include many new features, blockchain-based innovations, and a much larger set of levels and tilesets.

Please note that details are subject to change during development of the game.

Paint Pots

Paint pots will serve as the in-game currency, which can either be found within levels or purchased.

Each level will be accessible when a certain required amount of paint pots have been obtained. Higher tier rewards will be available in later levels with higher entry requirements.

Level Editor

The level editor will give players a chance to design their own levels—with a unique blockchain twist.

Once you’re happy with your level, you will have the option to mint it as a blockchain token and send the blueprint straight to your wallet!

In the future, when players spend Paint Pots playing your level, you will be able to earn a percentage return.

This gives players the opportunity to profit directly from their creations and blueprints, which can also be sold on the Enjin Marketplace.

Loot Rolls

At the end of each level, you will receive one or more loot rolls, which will be blockchain items.

The maximum rarity of an item will be determined based on the number of objectives completed within the level.

An example of the potential item points may look something like this:

  • You complete a level with one enemy and 50 Paint Blocks, giving you a total of 60 points. Based on this, your loot roll would limited to Uncommon item rarity.
  • For a more difficult level with more objectives and five enemies, your total score would be 100 points. This gives you the chance of rolling an Uncommon, Rare, or Epic item.

More information regarding in-game loot will be available in the future.

Game Flow

The original game works via a world map which guides you through different worlds, completing objectives in each level.

The Paint My World remake will also consist of several objectives to complete in order to finish a level. These objectives may span across multiple levels, where items acquired in one level may be needed within another.

The main adventure mode of the game will be of a Metroidvania-style, while player-created levels will help fuel the progression inside the open-world environment. Players will also be rewarded for completing different levels, rather than a pure linear progression.

Replay value will play an important role in the remake—we want players to experience something new and different every time they play the game.

The game will also feature a set of free-to-play content, non-blockchain enabled levels that consist of tutorials on mechanics, and other systems that the player will need to be familiar with.
