EVENT RECAP: Plug and Play Indonesia 2019
Plug and Play is an innovation platform that offers accelerator programmes to connect the best technology startups and the world’s largest corporations. We are honoured to be invited to attend GK Plug and Play Indonesia as a panel speaker. Here’s an event recap to summarise our experience at GK Plug and Play Indonesia.
Day 1 — Fireside Chat: Digital Innovation, Strategic Partnership and Scaling Up
CEO and Founder Val Yap identified key insurtech trends and shared about the importance to adapt and improvise to stay ahead of the competition. Val delved deeper into sharing how she finds success in insurtech through product innovation.
Product development weaved in with new technologies such as chatbots is essential to retain clients and differentiate products from other competitors. As a startup, it is crucial to be a pioneer in introducing new technologies for end-consumers.
What to expect when pitching to corporates? The art of winning over partners during pitches is to be open to share about the business’ challenges, opportunities and goals to ensure that the partner can work in sync with the business. It is important to understand cultural differences and identify synergy when working with global partners.
The bulk of the remaining 2 days of Plug and Play Indonesia was networking, as we exchanged big ideas with the industry’s finest know-hows represented by insurers, banks and other startups.
Comfortable bean bags so meet and mingle with attendees of Plug and Play Indonesia with casual chit-chats and conversations!
Alas, we ended Plug and Play Indonesia with a bang as we showcased how PAL Network plans to integrate its technologies with PolicyPal — also a second business entity founded and managed by Val Yap. This is an exciting journey for PAL Network as we shared insights with participating insurers and corporates on how they can adopt the end-to-end solutions offered by PAL Network’s Insurer’s Dashboard.
