How can this be possible? Believe it or not, you are likely handing over your hard-earned money to an industry that is intentionally setting you up for failure.

You may recognize it as Keto, Paleo, or Raw Foods Diet, among many other faces. Collectively, these trends support a market forecast globally to skyrocket from $254.9 billion in 2021 to $377.3 billion by 2026 according to market research.

This same industry is profiting from your insecurities by selling health, happiness and prosperity with the “simple” solution of reducing your calories and increasing your time spent in the gym.

Sound familiar yet? You may know it as the Diet Industry. It is nearly impossible in today’s society that you have not had at least a brief encounter, if not a lifelong love-hate relationship with various weight control regimens.

All too often, these diets starve your mind and body, resulting in greater frustration and confusion than ever before.

The question that well-intentioned friends, family, and even doctors fail to answer is “Why?” Why do we relentlessly chase promises of a flatter stomach, a lower number on the scale, and magic solutions to all of our problems?

What if Being Healthy Didn’t Mean Dieting?

What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “diet?” My clients often reflect a similar sentiment: Eat your heart out on Sunday because come Monday, we begin calorie deprivation mode. Whether you’re cutting carbs, processed foods, or gluten from your diet, you will likely find yourself feeling run down, obsessed with food, and empty in more than one aspect of life.

What if there were an alternative solution to a better you? According to the World Health Organization, “health” can be defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” Essentially, this means your health is impacted by a variety of factors far beyond the food you eat in a day.

Genetics, medical history, access to healthcare, occupation, socioeconomic status, geographic location, stress levels, activity, sleep quality, and social support are all factors influencing your health. This list can go on to cover more minute details such as vitamin levels or hormonal balance.

It is an overwhelming disservice that the Diet Industry boils a person’s worth down to success on a diet that is bound to fail. As shown in the list above, health cannot possibly be standardized to a single formula.

How do we begin to understand how these factors come together to create a state of mental, physical, and social well-being? That is where I come in.

As a Registered Dietitian and passionate believer that there is more to life than chronic dieting, I work as a team with my clients to sort through contradictory health information, identify short and long-term goals, and find a personalized solution that best fits their needs and lifestyle.

What is a Registered Dietitian?

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is an expert in the field of Nutrition, and more specifically, is proficient in the science behind how the foods we eat affect everything in our body from energy levels, to mental clarity, to mood.

A Registered Dietitian is NOT a Nutritionist. The legally protected title of a RD is earned with Bachelor’s Degree in a Nutrition related field, a minimum of 1200 hours of practicum experience (practicing to be a RD), and passing the National Credentialing Exam for Dietitians.

With a minimum of 5 years of study and practical experience, Dietitians are passionate about providing reliable health information to clear the Diet Culture fog that has clouded your vision for years.

Dietitians are trained to assess all that contributes to your current state of health, understand your goals, and create a plan that enhances quality of life and overall wellness.

The most rewarding aspect of my job is watching clients become empowered to take charge of their own health and create habits and skills that are beneficial and sustainable throughout a lifetime.

How to Allow Your Health to Prosper

If you are eager to earn back your time, money, and health, you can begin today.

With the comprehensive support of a licensed expert in food and nutrition, you may find an individualized health formula key to unlocking a new and improved you.

Unlike diet trends, I can guarantee a reduction in stress on your body and mind by leaving the chains of constant diet cycling behind. This more directly can lead to the physical changes to your body that you may desire (e.g leaning, bulking, etc.) than anything else.

Health and wellness look different on everyone, so why not find out what it looks like for you?
