The Prompt

In January, Zazzle challenged us to help people strengthen their personal relationships with a new mobile experience. We began by exploring the concept of “everyday gifting.” We aimed to break away from the usual event-based gifting mindset, while maintaining a connection to Zazzle’s “Make Anything” ethos.

The Result

Meet Quotr: a new way to create, collect, and share custom memes.

Quotr is a standalone app with a messaging integration — in this prototype, it’s shown as an iMessage app. Unlike existing meme apps and GIF keyboards, Quotr focuses on customized memes. During user testing, participants thought that Quotr felt like a happy medium between physical gifting and digital communications.

I’ll be adding more details on our research and prototypes soon. In the meantime, check out our team website for an overview of our process.
