What is the Market Maker Integration about?

The Market Maker (MM) integration provides an additional source of liquidity to the existing Automated Market Maker (AMM) to help traders enjoy better liquidity, pricing and the best trading experience.

Terms and Conditions:

• This campaign is only on Ethereum PancakeSwap. Trades on other chains such as BNB and Aptos will not be counted.
• Trade must be executed with Trust Wallet. Trades from any other wallet won’t be eligible for this campaign. Download Trust Wallet and learn how to use it here.
• Eligible trading pairs: WETH, WBTC,USDT, USDC, DAI, BUSD, MATIC, SAND, DYDX, CRV, MANA, SUSHI, FTM, LINK, APE, CVX, STG, LDO, AAVE, MKR, UNI
• For Promotion A, the cumulative total trading volume (buy and sell) should be more than $3,000.
• For Promotion B, the trading volume in a single trade should be at least $5,000. By the end of the promotion period, the total trading volume will be calculated, and ranked based on the total trading volume.
• Trading volume calculation: Total of buy and sell
• PancakeSwap reserves the right to cancel the campaign or amend the campaign mechanics or rules at any time at our sole discretion.
• In the event of any dispute, PancakeSwap reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding the campaign.
• Winners will be notified via PancakeSwap social media channels 14 days after the campaign ends as a confirmation
• Participants who do not meet the campaign eligibility requirements will not receive rewards
• Participants are eligible to participate in both Promotion A and B at the same time

How will the Market Maker integration work?

~tldr: as a trader, just set the tokens you want to trade as if it is a normal trade.

1. Users enter the token amount they want to trade on Ethereum PancakeSwap on the usual swap page.
2. PancakeSwap will send requests to the Market Maker(s) for the latest quotes.
3. PancakeSwap will automatically compare prices quoted by the Market Maker(s) and the AMM.
4. The route with the better price, (MM or AMM) will be sent back to the user.

5. The user will be prompted to confirm the trade. Quotes will be refreshed every 5 seconds.

6. Once the user confirms the final quote, a quote is sent through the wallet to sign the transaction to the smart contract for execution.

7. Smart contract sends the swapped tokens from MM or AMM pool to users and sends the user’s token to MM or AMM.

8. Please note that during market sensitive events (e.g. key economic announcements), MM may stop quoting for a while, while the AMM will continue to execute trades. Please check back to trade after these events.

What are the fees for trades executed through the Market Maker?

• PancakeSwap will not charge users any fees to ensure we can offer the best execution price possible.
• PancakeSwap is compensated a 0.05% fee for trades routed by the market makers, unless it is a trade on stablecoins (0.01% fee).
• If transactions are routed through PancakeSwap AMM then users will pay the usual 0.25% trading fees on PancakeSwap AMM.

What does this mean for Liquidity Providers on Ethereum?

Liquidity providers will continue to earn 0.17% trading fee reward (LP fees) and yield on the CAKE farms. Market Makers will not receive any CAKE rewards for providing liquidity.

Why is PancakeSwap integrating with market makers on Ethereum?

PancakeSwap recently launched its multichain AMM expansion on Ethereum, introducing ETH, BTC and stablecoin trading on the platform. However, Ethereum already has many existing established DEXs which have deep TVL on many pairs. We thought about how we could best serve our community and new Ethereum users without excessively emitting precious CAKE to acquire extremely high levels of TVL, and came to the conclusion of connecting market makers to our decentralized AMMs to help us offer traders the best experience and execution!
