At Pangea.app, our mission is to ensure students have the experience they need to find full-time jobs when they graduate.

It’s a big problem. More than 40% of recent college grads are underemployed after graduation, costing the US economy $1.4 trillion a year.

We connect college students to freelance projects at startups and small businesses, making it easy for students to gain experience via low-commitment, remote opportunities.

In the past 12 months, we’ve expanded to 180 college campuses and processed more than $25,000 in project fees.

This growth has been awesome, but my co-founder and I (plus the Pangeans we work with) can no longer keep up with all our user's demands and ideas for improvements.

It’s time to grow our team and bring on our first full-time hires!

We are looking for both a UI/UX Designer and a Full-Stack Engineer to join our VC-backed startup and get in on the ground floor.

If you want to do work that matters, have a voice in a product that's used by real people, and be a part of our mission to prepare the next generation for the future, reach out to me at adam@pangea.app

Both of these positions have full-time salaries, benefits, and equity packages.

Our startup is located in Providence, RI (you’ll be a part of an up and coming entrepreneurial ecosystem in a beautiful state). Remote work is possible.

We are looking for people with 0–5+ years experience.

See role descriptions below:

You will work directly and cooperatively with John (CTO) on developing and scaling our product, introducing new tech solutions, and managing our product offering.

This role is perfect for a passionate engineer with a genuine interest in building beautiful and reusable software in a fast-paced, growing startup.

About you:

Drive: You are a self-starter. You want the work you do to have a direct and substantial impact on the company, the product, and our customers. You take great pride in having ownership over the platform and can be your own boss.

Resilience: You are the Nokia phone when it comes to durability. We experience high highs and low lows. We make hundreds of decisions each day. You must not be easily deterred by setbacks and new challenges.

Adaptability: We operate fast and dynamically. With a small team, our roles and responsibilities are fluid. Our tech stack has evolved concurrently with our business. We care about the second derivative (rate of change), so a demonstrated ability to learn is more valuable to us than pure experience.

Compassion: We only succeed if our customers succeed. Empathy is key to solving their pain-points and finding ways to bring them value. You work well with small teams and are capable of understanding how each team member works best to help optimize each other’s performance.

Confidence: We’re the 300 Spartans going up against the Persian empire. You must be able to stay positive in the face of adversity. Conviction and decision making skills are paramount.

Patience: You can play the micro-grind, macro-patience game. We have a large vision of how we can impact the world, but we can only get there if we keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Humbleness: You stay hungry regardless of each success we accomplish. You recognize the strengths of others and have great self-awareness of your own shortcomings.
