As chairperson of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Bayan Muna congressman for nine years, and activist for nearly four decades, Teddy Casiño is more than qualified to be our champion in the Senate.

Despite the grim situation and absent any meaningful reform in politics, we continue to believe that it is important to elect more patriots in government who will advance a progressive agenda and push for genuine people empowerment.

Teddy is ready to take up the challenge once more to represent the voices of the marginalized and oppressed in the Senate. His candidacy offers hope and a real alternative to corrupt politicians and political dynasties.

Amid the country’s worsening crisis, our people face more hardships everyday while our elected leaders remain not just indifferent but also insatiable in their lust for power and money. Voters clamor for change yet they are betrayed by an electoral and political system dominated by corrupt clans and prone to fraud and violence.

As the nation prepares for the 2025 midterm election, we have another opportunity to reject traditional politicians and elitist parties who have only brought miseries to our people; and to choose nationalist leaders who will champion the cause of new politics and good governance.

It is fitting that Teddy announced his candidacy at the Bantayog mga Bayani to honor all the martyrs and heroes who fought the dictatorship. The struggle against old and new faces of tyranny continues as well as the fight for a better and just future.
