#PeoplesSONA ‘UMBAGANG PILIPINAS’ EFFIGY DEPICTS MARCOS-DUTERTE FEUD AMID RISING POVERTY AND PUBLIC OUTRAGE

Bagong Alyansang Makabayan is readying a protest effigy depicting the rivalry and feud of the Marcos and Duterte political dynasties amid the intensifying crisis and discontent in the country.

The effigy features Marcos Jr and Sara Duterte engaged in a slapping brawl while being smug and indifferent to the plight of ordinary people who are barely surviving because of rising prices, insecure jobs, and cheap wages.

Marcos Jr is wearing a sash of the United States flag while Duterte’s sash is China’s flag symbolizing the puppetry of the country’s top two officials to foreign powers.

The effigy intends to demonstrate that the nonstop bickering and maneuver for power and influence of the Marcos and Duterte dynasties is a public nuisance. It reflects the greed of politicians who seek to gain more power instead of addressing the concerns of ordinary citizens.

The effigy will be destroyed to symbolize the people’s anger and rejection of the bankrupt political system represented by Marcos and Duterte.

Aside from the effigy, Bayan artists are also preparing an oversized beach ball representing the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ logo that will be tossed around by Sona protesters. The ball is “Bolang Pilipinas’ which refers to the empty promises of Marcos Jr and his ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ slogan. After two years, Marcos Jr has proven that he is only capable of lying as he has nothing substantial to offer other than to require Filipinos t

o sing and recite the “Bagong Pilipinas” hymn and oath.
