The Philippines is not a military outpost of China or any other imperialist superpower. In the same way we opposed US bases in the Philippines, so should we oppose China’s use of Philippine facilities for military purposes.

In a time when China has bullied Filipino fishermen in the West Philippine Sea, allowing Chinese planes to use our facilities for refueling adds insult to injury.

We call on Filipinos to stand for national sovereignty on June 12, 4pm at Liwasang Bonifacio, a day we have dubbed as #HINDIpendenceDay. Let us show these foreign powers that the Filipino people are not push-overs. Let us hold the Duterte regime accountable for its subservience to foreign dictates. Stand for national sovereignty! #
