Team Panjo is Busy Making Panjo Great Again this Thanksgiving

Panjo is outgrowing its community marketplace structure. For the last few years, when a seller posted an item to Panjo, they had to assign the listing a community marketplace and a category specific to that community marketplace.

Panjo formerly arranged listings by community marketplaces and categories within those community marketplaces.

The Thanksgiving Holiday period is typically a slow time on Panjo. We are taking this quiet time on Panjo to phase out the community marketplace/category structure and phase in tags.

Moving forward, Panjo is going to organize listings by tags.

We are making this change because members told us that they wanted to slice and dice Panjo in more narrow ways. Previously, when sellers created listings, the seller was required to assign the listing to a single community marketplace. Then, if that community marketplace was associated with a forum, Panjo would automatically post the listing to the relevant forum. The seller could subsequently share the listing to social media accounts.

Great items could get lost or hidden in Panjo’s community marketplace nooks and crannies.

The problem with the structure pictured above is that when community marketplaces A, B, and C all share a common topic of interest, say paintball, then, when a seller posts a great item in community marketplace C it is difficult for buyers in community marketplaces A & B to find that item. For buyers who shop in community marketplaces A or B, discovery of a great item in community marketplace C requires a site-wide search.

Now a seller can tag an item with up to five tags, including a tag that groups the listing into a community marketplace.

Starting yesterday, November 16, 2016, when a seller creates a listing on Panjo, the seller can assign up to five tags for their listing. The seller can THEN share the listing to a related forum or to their friends on social media.

In this example, the seller connected his Panjo account to the r3vlimited.com forum and can easily share his listing on that forum. Panjo generates the thread post and keeps the thread post updated if the status of the item changes.

There are now a lot more ways for a buyer to browse all the listings on Panjo that might be of interest.

The new model gives buyers more ways to slice and dice the great listings on Panjo to discover their next, new, prized possession.
