Exciting news — Pantomime is launching the Reality Construction Kit for augmented reality. Now you can build structures and contraptions into your space out of tracks, planks, crates and real objects, all with the astonishing physics you may know from Pantomime’s 5-star Reality Faucet app.

Here’s the product launch press release:

Reality Construction Kit Introduces Uncanny Augmented Reality Physics on iPhone Pro and iPad Pro

And if you have an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro, you can get the app and all the in-app purchases (Darts, Crates, Basketball Hoops…) free during our launch at the App Store! Experience the magic firsthand in your own space.

This is more than a dazzling product release: since we’ll be supporting third-party developers in our Reality Store, in a way it’s the public launch of a stealth Apple platform.

Apple’s Stealth Augmented Reality Platform: Pro Devices with LiDAR
Apple is renowned for introducing revolutionary hardware/software platforms that delight users, power new industries and blindside competitors. So for years now, every quarter more insiders speculate about something they’re sure Apple will do soon in Augmented Reality — usually glasses or a headset. Since Apple has never announced such a product, so far those predictions have always been early or wrong.

Few notice that Apple has already launched an augmented reality hardware/software platform that puts it years ahead of competitors: its Pro line of iPhones and iPads. Every Pro device contains LiDAR 3D depth sensors; multi-core processors for vast, scalable performance; and RealityKit libraries for interactive real-time 3D physics, graphics and sound. While the sensors see the shapes of everything around the user up to 15 feet away, the software supports accurate physics based on those shapes — providing gorgeous 3D graphics and directional sound with uncanny realism. With each new Pro product release, Apple devices support more complex scenes at 60 seamless animation frames per second.

There are now a dozen models of iPad and iPhone in the platform, in four display sizes — every Pro mobile device released by Apple in the past 3 years. The latest — the 2022 iPad Pros with M2 chip out this week, and the iPhone 14 Pro models that are now Apple’s biggest sellers — provide the most astonishing performance.

Developers aiming at low-end phones, Android compatibility or instant mass adoption have ignored this revolutionary platform or entirely missed it.

Pantomime has embraced Apple’s Pro line for the unique, breathtaking experiences it enables — becoming the technology leader in a new realistic Kinetic Augmented Reality.

Meanwhile, a hundred million users who love their iPhone/iPad Pros don’t yet realize they’ve already got the most powerful AR platform ever created at their fingertips — the one exclusively on Apple.

For many, Reality Construction Kit will be their first chance to unveil it.
