How to add PAN to an ERC20 compatible wallet

Last week we successfully made PAN available as an ERC20 token. As such you are able to withdraw PAN to any ERC20 compatible wallet, send it to other Bitpanda users for free or deposit PAN back to your Bitpanda account.

In this post we would like to show you what you need to do to actually withdraw the PAN ERC20 token to popular Ethereum wallets like MyEtherWallet.com and MetaMask.

PAN is safely stored on Bitpanda’s Cold Storage. So if you want to keep your PANthere, you don’t have to do anything while it is stored there as safe as possible. Optionally you can withdraw your PAN tokens on any ERC20 compatible wallet that supports custom tokens.

Here are the official infos you need to know to add PAN to an ERC20 compatible wallet:

While there are many Ethereum and ERC20 compatible wallets available, not all of them support custom tokens as easy as the solutions described below. MyEtherWallet and MetaMask are two of the most popular Ethereum wallets. Here you can set up a wallet for free pretty fast and easy, while adding custom tokens like PAN is also done without a hassle.

How to add PAN to your wallet on MyEtherWallet

MyEtherWallet is a free platform for creating and using wallets on the Ethereum platform. It basically offers an easy-to-use way to generate and access Ethereum addresses. Note that funds are never stored on MyEtherWallet itself. Instead it is just a tool to access your funds on the Ethereum blockchain.

There are multiple options available to access your wallet via MyEtherWallet. One of the easiest and also safest ways is to use a hardware wallet by manufacturers like TREZOR or Ledger. We highly recommend using one, if you want to store funds outside of Bitpanda. The downside is that such wallets are not for free. If you want to order one of them, you should order them directly in the TREZOR online shop or the Ledger online shop to ensure that they are 100% safe and untampered.

Create or log in to your existing wallet using MyEtherWallet.com. You can find a detailed description on how to create a wallet on the respective support page.
First you have to send PAN from Bitpanda to your Ethereum address on MyEtherWallet. A description on how to send cryptocurrencies from Bitpanda to another address can be found on the official Bitpanda support page.
As a general rule you should not send the whole balance at once, but a small portion first to ensure that everything works as intended and that you are using the correct address. You can find more basic tips like this here.
Once you are sure that your PAN token have been sent successfully and confirmed by the Ethereum blockchain you are able to add PAN as a custom token to the wallet accessed on MyEtherWallet.
On the right side of the screen you can see an area called “Token Balances”. There you have to click on the button “Add Custom Token”.

6. Now you have to type in PAN’s Token Contract Address, the Token Symbol and the Decimals. You can find all this information above in this post.

7. Click on the “Save” button and you see the amount of PAN you sent to your wallet earlier.

How to add PAN to your wallet on MetaMask

A popular alternative to MyEtherWallet is the browser extension MetaMask. It offers convenient access to Ethereum based distributed applications called “Dapps”.

MetaMask is available as a browser extension for free on Chrome, Firefox, Opera and you can also use the Brave Browser. You can find the download links on the official MetaMask website.

First create a new or login to an existing wallet using MetaMask. You can find a detailed description on how to do this on MetaMask’s support page.
Then you have to send PAN from Bitpanda to your Ethereum address on MetaMask. A description on how to send cryptocurrencies from Bitpanda to another address can be found on the official Bitpanda support page.
