Armor Poetry at Paper Poetry
A Rose’s Armor
in a tiny universe
‘Nobody Knows This Little Rose’ — Emily Dickinson
Nobody knows this little Rose —
It might a pilgrim be
Did I not take it from the ways
And lift it up to thee.
Only a Bee will miss it —
Only a Butterfly,
Hastening from far journey —
On its breast to lie —
Only a Bird will wonder —
Only a Breeze will sigh —
Ah Little Rose — how easy
For such as thee to die!Below is my response to the January Paper Poetry prompt inspired by Emily Dickson's poem — ‘Nobody Knows This Little Rose’
An armorless rose
Listens to the singing birds
Welcoming the busy bees
Creates a gorgeous sight
When a fluttering butterfly joins
Together they live
In a tiny universe
Dancing to the wind’s sweet chime
Through the breeze
With rain or shine
In a storm
In the dark of the night
Smiling in the scorching sunshine
Just an armorless rose!
