The need we find for covenants,
a passionate way to express our feelings
by way of tokens, words or elaborate ritual
assuring our place within a heart or association,
acceptance we so desire.

We humans need security in a system
guiding ourselves into remembering who we are
who we have been accepted by or accepted into our social circles.

Times we feel our vulnerable thoughts
leading us astray, using our oaths
to snap us quickly back quelling thoughts of our
surmised delusion.

We find comfort through incompetent times
in knowledge of the contract made,
lending ways to forget mistakes we let ourselves
fall headlong into.

At times, needs are strong to break the mould,
to break we meet with covenant pressure.

To bring a fall out in the mind to go against our nature,
we find ourselves in compromise or perhaps a state of rejection,
to stop rebellion we use our promise to deal with frustrated emotion.

Thank you as always, Suntonu Bhadra for giving my words a platform, thank you also to Melissa Bee. 🙏🙏 Thank you all for reading and your precious time. Always. J. 🙏✨
