Don’t Look Back

But back is where I came from
Not where I am now
Nor where I want to be again
But back in the heartache —
Where I once burned
Holds all the lessons
To be here today
I had to learn
The back would replay
When I had not looked deep
The same waters kept turning up —
So I will always look back
I cannot forget where I came from
It is necessary —
I must rise above.
