perhaps the mind dreams
so sleep not confused with death
one reason, not the
let’s not sweat the minutiae
endless possibilities

perhaps the mind dreams
while body rests and restores
so sleep’s not boring

a dream from which I just woke —
a beautiful apartment
would you like a whiskey
yes, please
great grey granite walls and floors
very modern
almost minimalist
except for the indoor swimming pool
and the people far from minimal very interesting indeed
beautiful women
I watch a man lick one’s hand as if marking his territory
the woman sitting next to me, hair like Marilyn’s, swaying to the music
asks me as her eyes and mind penetrate mine, if I like the Grateful Dead
I do,
but this isn’t them

We are living in the digital world, covered in the autonomous aspects & tracked motions of life. Yet, somehow we are losing some critical elements. Keyboards, touchpads, & speech-to-text are there, but we believe that handwritten words on paper is still meaningful to some poets.
