Fallen Titles

And paper crowns

Glory unknown yet sashes long fought for;
No wonder why adulthood is hauntingly bleak.
For the very definition of win I twisted;
The pseudo-pinnacle — I perceived another peak!

For victory has lost the charm of its nature;
I find it today amidst kitschy lifted cheeks.
Opposed to the humble rise of a new quest,
I see it in superficial rule and wrest.

True aim I defied solely for its modest sash;
A title unbearable to my unleashed pride.
Up the ladder of my ego-induced path, I climbed;
Behold discontent oozing from my inner void.

We are living in the digital world, covered in the autonomous aspects & tracked motions of life. Yet, somehow we are losing some critical elements. Keyboards, touchpads, & speech-to-text are there, but we believe that handwritten words on paper is still meaningful to some poets.
