Hello to our dear Paper Poetry friends,

Another week has passed in this oftentimes crazy world we find ourselves in. I hope you have successfully negotiated your way through it and had moments to reflect on and celebrate the joyful.

Indeed, I hope you have paused to hear the song that sings in your heart. Even in the most stressful and challenging times, there is always something to sing about. In fact, that is when our singing hearts are doing their best work to restore the status quo.

Restoring the status quo — or rather, establishing equality to #BreakTheBias — was the theme for International Women’s Day on March 8th. March is also Women’s History Month when we acknowledge the significant achievements made by women in current and bygone times.

The role of women and girls in society, their accomplishments, and the hardships they experience, often in circumstances not of their doing, are as relevant now as they have been through all of history. Emory Austin’s quote speaks to those women and girls. Let us…
