Photo by Author: October Sky Glory Edged with Rage

dipped in gold orange
burnt umber orange
coral and persimmon rays
brilliantly back lit skies
of dawn and setting sun

oh juiced, fresh, tingling, delight
orange concentrate is a fright
creamy vanilla iced orange dreams
savory paprika-ed Chicken Orange Marrakesh
a finish of chocolate and orange
would that I could be so sweetly paired

bumpy peel of orange pithy and bitter
a jail for sweetness within same as
jumpsuit orange clothes some bad ordeal

faded glory of youth orange streaks in faux auburn hair
orange bronzed pitted skin in HD offends
will the jumpsuit fit or pull at the seams
on the sweet sunrise shimmering with orange light
when he is marched into hell and out of our sight

frost shimmers as it slowly decomposes the jack o lantern
to a pool of orange goo under a blood orange Harvest Moon
