Spring and I
A ghazal
The sky is so blue and sunny one day,
But then the next, it is dark and grey — spring.
The thunder booms, and the lightning flashes
Nature’s sky show is quite the display — spring.
Plump birds are building their nests in the trees
Because the babies are on the way — spring.
While a herd of deer is out for breakfast,
I sit and watch the fawns run and play — spring.
The blooming flowers yell, “Sniff us, Megan!”
Their beauty draws me; I must obey — spring.
