The Autumn Song:

the longing of soul…

It’s time for the leaves to leave

their momentary abode, the trees, their cage.

Merrily they fall,

on the nature’s call

to be one with the source, the roots, the soil,

they seem dead to the living, off the stamp of being.

No! they are just unbound from their cage

And ONE with the WHOLE

deep inside, mingling with the roots

yielding nutriment, to the new life

the spring will bring.

In our naïveté, we fail to discern

the raison d’etre of this season.

To tell us all

the leaf must fall, to be ONE with soil.

Oh! the gullible human, do not fret,

the bygone leaf is not lost.

It is ONE with the WHOLE

to sprout and strengthen the young new life,

the spring will bring.

Like the river must empty itself

to be ONE with the SEA.

The soul must detach from the form,

to be ONE with the WHOLE

The yellow, orange, red, brown keep us telling.

There are colors in falling

There is a beauty in parting

What else are we, but the caged birds.

Free the bird, free the soul

to be ONE with the WHOLE

…this is the autumn song…making my soul long

To be ONE with the WHOLE
