That stroll with death, the feeling of sinking,
Of slinking off, to have no power or control,
All the things we could have been
Now slipping far from sight.

“No wait! the time for me can not have come,
Unfinished work is mine to fulfil,
Good, honourable intentions never to be discovered
By those respected, admired, loved,”

Reality strikes deep into the unbelieving mind,
A voice carried off into a void of silence
Never to be heard in this realm again.

Life flashes across the background
Of the ever-decreasing conscience
What has been and what might be,
Hanging on, to disbelief and hope.

The awakening slap of reality giving rise
To fear of the truth about to be entered
Your time here incomplete.
When can we say with confidence,
“ It is time.”

Thank you Suntonu Bhadra for giving my words a platform here at Paper Poetry… Thank you all for reading and your precious time. J.
