That opens like friendship

I could teach you to fold a paper star*
That opens like magic
with the tug of a bead
that’s attached to a silken-spun cord of
well-wishes and the exquisite light
of a friend who celebrates
us — just, as we are

We could sit here and make this friendship star
For we too, are magic
We all have the seeds
that’s attached, with neither cords nor with strings
of all love unfolding
of all light with wings

For my friend who gave me that folded star 🙏, for an occasion I celebrated with the kid. (God Bless all our friends who celebrate our everyday triumphs with us)

And for Carolyn Hastings, whose friendship, once again, called me back (to Medium) from galaxies afar, with Paper Poetry’s Poemora Promt:

We are living in the digital world, covered in the autonomous aspects & tracked motions of life. Yet, somehow we are losing some critical elements. Keyboards, touchpads, & speech-to-text are there, but we believe that handwritten words on paper is still meaningful to some poets.

I make things. I’m interested in how we use storytelling.
