We Don’t Talk
A Poetry Series | Part 4 | Silence
They say it gets better with time
Well it is just a lie
It only gets worse
and I’ll tell you why
Just when I thought it could hurt no more
Memories strike back
Everywhere I go
They haunt me in stages
and play with my mind
They hover over places
In people I meet, in things I find
We don’t talk in words
our silence speaks.
This is the fourth part of a series I have been working on called ‘We don’t talk’. The idea is to explore the space where we go numb and put words, colour, and form to an emptiness called grief. This is to un-break and rise above everything weighing us down. This is also the first time I am trying a fiction series, so let me know your thoughts on this!
